Milo's milk cake...

Yesterday we took off most of the day to spend some time with the kids and to cook some yummy treats. First we made Milo's favorite cranberry meatballs and then we decided to make this cake...

Sweet milk cake, otherwise known as Tres Leches cake. Here is the recipe from Rachael Ray's magazine...

The ingredients...

Milo even helped out by cleaning some dishes for us...

This is what was in the cup...

The baked cake before we covered it in milk...

The finished product. The recipe called for whipped cream and fruit topping, but we didn't think that it really needed it, and we were right.

The verdict? Well, we'll let Milo tell you how he liked it...

Gym for tots...

Oh my gosh, I haven't put anything up since Halloween and now I have so much to post. On Friday morning we headed up to Plattsburgh to meet Kate and Alek at Gym for Tots. The first thing I thought when I walked in was holy moly, there were just so many kids! Well, not even kids yet, babies and toddlers. All I could do was search for Kate's face in the crowd and wonder, am I really gonna let my kids loose in here? But I am so glad we did, because Milo and Lola both had a ball (in more ways than one). And we have known Kate and Randy since there were no kids, so it was really neat to see them all playing together. I think that we will definitely have to do it again soon!

Kate and Alek...

Mr. Serious...

We just noticed how the little legs on the pool line up perfectly with Lola's top half... hahaha!

Halloween...

The kids had a great time on Halloween! They are both still too small for trick-or-treating, so we made some treats and delivered them to great-grandma, grandma and grandpa and Nancy's family instead. We had so much fun visiting everyone and the kids even got a few baby-friendly treats. When we got home we had some dinner and then Lola passed out on daddy's lap, so mommy and Milo got to give out the candy. Milo was NOT afraid of the trick-or-treaters at all, and his willingness to hand candy to masked strangers kind of made me nervous, but he had soooo much fun! He would wave like crazy when I opened the door and when the kids walked away he would yell at them until they turned around and then he would wave some more!

Milo likes to stick out his finger and bzzzzzzzz like a bee...

But Lola prefers to flap her wings...

Some yummy goodies that we made to bring to our family...

Our two little bees at Great-grandma's house...

And here they are again at grandma and grandpa's house. They each got a wrapped toy instead of a treat...

Lola liked unwrapping her present. I think that she'll have a great time at Christmas. C'mon Lola! Rip that paper...

Milo loves new toys...
Grandma had some root-beer by the door, and Milo decided that he wanted some. It didn't take him very long to figure out that maybe he didn't want any after all...
