Saturday at home...

We got our new cameras on Friday, so on Saturday we were busy testing them out. It was the perfect day to be in. Rainy and miserable. (Also the perfect day to not be doing a wedding)

First we made some applesauce in the crock pot...

And then I realized... there is no pretty way to photograph cooked apple sauce. It mostly just ends up looking like a bowl of (fill in the blank), but it was soooo yummy...

The kids spent the afternoon playing, napping and snacking while we cleaned the house a bit, then later in the afternoon we painted our pumpkins!

Little old sister went first...
She was very preoccupied with the newspaper...

But she had fun squishing the paint and getting us both a little messy...

Then it was little old brother's turn. He was not loving the whole messy hand thing...

But he did like how the paint looked on the pumpkin...

And again, not so thrilled with the mess...

Milo & Lola at the pumpkin patch...

On Friday we all bundled up in our turtlenecks and sweaters and headed down to Plattsbugh to pick out our pumpkins. We decided that this year we wanted to go to Rulf's Orchard. I've gone to Rulf's since I was a little kid and we used to camp right across the street every summer. We used to stop by often for fruit, pies and old fashioned candy. I have great memories of the place and Jason had never been there, so since we needed pumpkins anyway, we figured, let's go now. So happy we did. The kids had a great time! Milo wanted to carry every pumpkin around with him, and Lola found some very tasty leaves to munch on (can't wait to get past this stage). We also picked out a big, fat, juicy apple pie to bring home along with a bag of apples. The pie is so good... mmmmmm! But Milo didn't like it. So, more for us!

Milo picked out a pumpkin for Lola. I think that it reminded him of her because it is also very short and round...
Our sweet little pumpkin butt...

Lola was making her monkey noises for us. It was quite fitting that she was also wearing her monkey sweater...
Milo liked this pumpkin a lot, but he couldn't lift it...

So, he hugged it instead...

Another favorite pumpkin, the biggest at the patch...

Shockingly big, in fact...

What busy, busy babies...

Thanksgiving lunch x2...

On Sunday, we all went over to great-grandma's house for Thanksgiving lunch.

First daddy took some photos...

And then Milo took some photos...

He really likes great-grandma's glasses and mugs...

Then Milo discovered great-grandma's phone. I guess he had some important calls to take care of...
But he just wouldn't leave the phone alone, so we all got kicked outside. Here he is with his beloved jingle jangle...

Lola was happy to be kicked outside because she'd been wanting to eat some grass all day...

Melanie tried to get Milo to climb into the tractor tire with her, but he wouldn't do it. So Jason got some cute pics of Mel by herself. She looks so tiny...

And then on Monday we went to grandma & grandpa's house for another thanksgiving lunch.

Everybody got all dressed up, but grandma and grandpa didn't think that the kids could eat or play well in their fancy clothes. So they ended up in just their diapers almost immediately...

Hip hip horray for Target!!!

Today was THE FIRST day for Target to open, and we didn't even have to wait for the grand opening on the 12th. We bought tons of snacks and cleaning supplies and we got Lola some tights and hair clippies and Milo some Itsy Bitsy cups and bowls. We were at the Mall yesterday, also, and Milo got his first official haircut! He wore an animal smock and got to hold a comb, he was so good. We were very proud of him and now he looks so handsome and big.
