A crazy week at home...

We are almost finished our renovations now, but while we were in the midst of our rubble pile, it was hard to let the kids play everywhere in the house. So, we had to come up with some creative ways to keep them happy.

And if wearing your touque in the tub makes you happy, by all means, go for it!

Lola had fun washing herself up in the tub...
Apparently, she has a very dirty mouth...

Aaaaaaa, all clean now...

Lola learned "me" this week...

And Milo became The Entertainer...

Eating keeps some people happy...

And empty jugs seem to keep everyone happy...

Lola also learned to walk this week! Go, Lola, go! Can you believe she is only 11 months old? So smart...

Teeth and teething biscuits...

Lola's 1st teeth! Being the overly ambitious type, she decided to get one top tooth, followed by the bottom two, all on the very same day. If you look very hard, you can see her top tooth...
She also started eating big people food last week, and this week she is feeding herself with a spoon! She does very well...

On Sunday, we made our own teething biscuits from a recipe that we found in Wondertime Magazine. The kids had fun playing with them, but they ended up more like home made teething rings. They were so hard! Like cement. Or wood. Milo didn't want to give his up when it came to bath time, so we figured that there would be no harm with him taking it into the bath with him. After all, we were only having bath time for the play portion of it and were not going to be using soap. So into the tub the cookie went, and even after a 15 minute soak, the darn thing didn't dissolve. In fact, it was still as hard as it was before, and now Milo was insisting on taking it to bed with him! We drew the line there with the fear that his precious lovey would be replaced by a disgusting cookie that he would carry everywhere with him for the next 3 years because it would just not dissolve or crumble. I will, however, keep the dough recipe on hand for Christmas ornaments next year. Or better yet, when the kids are done gnawing on and playing with these we can paint them and add ribbons and not bother with making more.

Aren't they cute though?

And they made Milo happy...

Shhhh, it's a secret recipe...

Our bathroom...

After 21 months our bathroom is finally complete! The reason for the delay? Well, he's in every single one of these photos. In fact, I was laying these tiles with daddy, grandma and grandpa the night before he arrived.

A bit more Christmas...

On Sunday we had the Canadian Greers over for one more Christmas get-together. We all had a nice lunch and the kids each got a few more gifts...

Like usual, Lola slept through the gift opening...

Here we all are...

Our anniversary...

Wow, this December has been full of milestones! My 30th birthday, Lola's first Christmas and our 5th anniversary! For our anniversary this year we ended up staying home with the kids all day and we re-decorated their room. It was way past due and we are very pleased with the results. While we decorated, we had a pot of meatballs simmering away on the stove, and that evening we had our first candlelight dinner with the kids. The menu had to be toddler friendly, so we had spaghetti and meatballs and bananas foster with homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert. Yummy! Milo loved everything except for the bananas foster, which was surprising, but he ate his weight in plain ice cream instead.
Here are a few pics of their sweet new bedroom...

Christmas...

On Sunday we had Christmas at grandma & grandpa's house...
Milo and Lola got a new kitchen. Milo loved it...

But Lola slept through the gift opening...

Milo was a good helper and helped everyone with their presents...

Lola woke up and gave mommy some kisses...

Meanwhile, Milo made some coffee (aka coff) in the kitchen...

He shared it with grandpa...

and Ryan...

The boys had some whipped cream at their coffee party...

Lola finally got a turn to open her gifts...

On Christmas morning we stayed in our jammies to unwrap our gifts...

Lola was so excited for her first Christmas that she got a bad case of the crazy legs...

Milo got some blocks that can also be used as a nifty drum set...

And he got his first camera...

Mommy's wild new diaper bag...

More unwrapping...

Lola got a doll. But I think she wished that she would have gotten a camera too...

Milo being inducted into the Greer Cicarelli Camera Club. Now he is super cool like mommy and daddy...

A gift for daddy...

Lola started warming up to her doll a little bit...

after she found out what a wonderful tickler she is...

In the afternoon great-grandma came over for lunch. Her lap was the best place to sit while having some fruit...

Great-grandma is also the best at playing cars...

But Lola wasn't buying it...

Before bed, Milo decided to give the Santa hat one last go...

Merry Christmas everybody!!!
