Wow, this December has been full of milestones! My 30th birthday, Lola's first Christmas and our 5th anniversary! For our anniversary this year we ended up staying home with the kids all day and we re-decorated their room. It was way past due and we are very pleased with the results. While we decorated, we had a pot of meatballs simmering away on the stove, and that evening we had our first candlelight dinner with the kids. The menu had to be toddler friendly, so we had spaghetti and meatballs and bananas foster with homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert. Yummy! Milo loved everything except for the bananas foster, which was surprising, but he ate his weight in plain ice cream instead. Here are a few pics of their sweet new bedroom...
On Saturday morning we put up our tree! We had been meaning to put it up the first week of December, but, 4 cases of stomach flu, 2 colds, and 2 particularly nasty vaccinations later, we finally got it done. Everyone is eating and sleeping like normal again (or not sleeping if you're Lola), and we all have our old happy faces back. This is what the kids were doing while Jason finished assembling our tree. Yes, we have a fake tree. But I really don't like the idea of vacuuming needles out of the carpet until June. Besides, we already have this one, and I would feel wasteful to not use it. Maybe one day... Milo loved digging for decorations...
But I'm not sure what Lola thought of the singing snowman...
Wow, what a difference a year makes! Milo was such a big helper this year...
My little angel with the angel...
Yippy! The tree is ready!
We have the best little presents under our tree, now don't we?
